I know, patience is a virtue.
But I see many people trick themselves into thinking they are being patient when really they are hesitating.
Patience is something you have in or after the situation. But there must be action before, in order for there to be patience.
Let me give you an example.
You are sitting at the airport because your flight is delayed. You show patience by opening a book and reading, or by giving your mother a call. You don’t stress about the delay. You make the most of it.
Hesitation on the other hand, the person would have never booked the flight to be stuck at the airport.
Hesitation is costing you time
My job as a real estate coach is to remove fear, remove uncertainty, remove hesitation.
The client needs to commit to the process first of working with me. Many more people hesitate at just working with me.
I hear it all the time.
- They will start after their next closing.
- They will start after the find the right theme for their wordpress site.
- They will start after they get their database in order.
- They will start next month.
These are all delay tactics. Excuses about committing. Hesitation.
The same can be said for many other events or activities.
- Hesitating at setting up your website.
- Hesitation on starting with twitter.
- Hesitation on buying a Mac.
- Insert what you are currently hesitating on here _____________________
Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” – Conrad Hilton
Hesitation is costing you money
- Where would you be at if you had set up your wordpress site 6 months ago?
- Where would you be at if you had started creating content 6 months ago?
- Where would you be at if you had started a Sphere Engagement Strategy 1 year ago?
When you have control and the ability to effect the outcome, that is not patience, that is hesitation. You can control your decision making and choices. When you delay decision making and choices, that is hesitation.
